Submissions
Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check recent submissions’ status. Log In to an existing account or Register a new account.
Checklist for preparing submissions
As part of the submission process, authors are required to prove that their submission meets all of the following guidelines. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the authors.
- The material has not been previously published or is under consideration by any other journal, or it has been provided an explanation to the editor in the comments section.
- The submitted file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or a WordPerfect document.
- All URLs in the text (e.g., Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction) are enabled.
- The text is single-spaced and in 12-point font. They use italics rather than underlining (except with URLs), and images and tables are within the text rather than at the end.
- The text does not have the names of the author(s). If an author is cited, the bibliography and footnotes state "Author" and year, instead of the author's name, article title, etc. The author's name has also been removed from the document properties, which can be found in the File menu in Microsoft Word.
- Images, if any, must be attached as additional files in jpg format.
Guidelines for authors
FOR ARTICLES/PAPERS
- They must be at least 25 pages long and not exceed 35 (including references). They should be in Word using Times New Roman (11 pts.) with a line spacing of 1.5.
- They must comply with the following structure:
- Title of the work, name or names of the authors in the order they should figure in the publication (father's and mother's surnames and first name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), email address, and a brief academic curriculum of approximately 50 words).
- The maximum number of authors per article is two.
- Title and abstract in Spanish and English with an approximate length of 200 words.
- Five keywords, in English and Spanish that are not repeated with those in the title.
- References must follow, in essence, APA standards (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition). A quick guide HERE and an automatic citation generator HERE.
- Notes (other than bibliographical references) must be numbered and presented as footnotes.
- Charts, tables, figures, and images must be produced with sufficient quality for digital reproduction, and the original graphic files must be attached in a separate file (in JPEG format). Each chart, table, image, and figure must have the respective information at the bottom according to APA standards.
- All URLs in the text (e.g., Social Research Update) must be activated.

FOR DISSERTATIONS
- The length of the dissertations is free as long as they do not exceed 15 pages.
- They must be in Word using Times New Roman (11 pts.) and with a line spacing of 1.5.
- They must have the following order:
- Title of the work, name or names of the authors in the order in which they should figure in the publication (father's and mother's surnames and first name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), email address, and a brief academic curriculum of approximately 50 words).
- Title and abstract in Spanish and English with an approximate length of 200 words.

FOR REVIEWS
Reviews must have two types of information
- Information about the material that is being reviewed
- Title in Spanish and English (of the book, thesis, audiovisual material, or computer application published, in paper or on the web).
- Name or names of the authors of the material in the order in which they should figure in the publication (father's surname, mother's surname, and name(s); institutional affiliation, if applicable).
- Bibliographic data where applicable (City: Editorial, year of publication. Total pages. ISBN.)
- URL of the reviewed material (if any).
- Information about the author(s) of the review
- Name or names of the authors in the order in which they should figure in the publication (father's and mother's surnames and first name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), email address, and a brief academic curriculum of approximately 50 words).
- It is recommended that reviews have a minimum of 3 pages and not exceed 6 (including bibliographical references, if any). They should be in Word using Times New Roman (11 pts.) and with a line spacing of 1.5.
References must follow, in essence, APA standards (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition). A quick guide HERE and an automatic citation generator HERE.
Make a new submission to the Reviews section.
FOR TRANSLATIONS
- Before sending any document to this section, you must be sure that the texts proposed for publication have not been translated into Spanish.
- Only book chapters or articles that have not been translated to Spanish will be published.
- The texts proposed for this section must be relevant to social psychology or related disciplines.
- Translations must have the following:
- The complete reference of the translated text according to APA standards (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition). A quick guide HERE and an automatic citation generator HERE.
- Name or names of the authors in the order in which they should figure in the publication (father's and mother's surnames and first name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), email address, and a brief academic curriculum of approximately 50 words).
- A well-founded argument saying why the text was translated to Spanish, highlighting its relevance to social psychology or related disciplines.
- The extension of the text must not exceed 35 pages (including bibliographical references) and be in Word using Times New Roman (11 pts.) and with a line spacing of 1.5.
- Precise identification data of the publisher or journal where the text was originally published.
- Precise details of the concession, when applicable, of the translation licenses.
- A digital reproduction of the document in its original language in Word or PDF format. Documents in formats other than those indicated above will not be accepted.
It is important to note that Somepso Journal does not purchase translation rights of any kind and that these must be free or open, as it is a non-profit academic journal that sympathizes with the 'Open Access' (OA) policy.
FOR SELECTED TEXTS
The Editorial Committee of this journal may receive proposals of classic texts that, due to their relevance to social psychology and related disciplines, may be considered for publication as long as they do not violate any copyright regulations and are works of the public domain.
- The selected texts must contain the following:
- The complete reference of the transcribed text complies with APA standards (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition). A quick guide HERE and an automatic citation generator HERE.
- Name or names of the authors in the order in which they should figure in the publication (father's and mother's surnames and first name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), email address and a brief academic curriculum of approximately 50 words).
- A well-founded argument saying why such text was selected and proposed to this journal, highlighting its relevance to social psychology or related disciplines.
- The extension of the text must not exceed 35 pages (including bibliographical references) and be in Word using Times New Roman (11 pts.) with a line spacing of 1.5.
- Precise identification data of the publisher or journal where the text was originally published.
- Precise data of the original work where it was published that allows the verification that it is in the public domain.
- A digital reproduction of the original document in Word or PDF format. Documents in formats other than those indicated above will not be accepted.

Costs for sending a manuscript
SOMEPSO journal does not generate charges or fees for submitting a manuscript in any modality.
Costs for processing items

Authors have the copyright of the articles published in this journal, with the first publication rights remaining to the Journal. Since they appear in this open-access publication, articles are for public use in education and other non-commercial venues, as long as the source is provided.

SOMEPSO journal is a biannual publication edited by the Mexican Society of Social Psychology since its foundation in 2016.

SOMEPSO invites to discuss topics in the field of Social Sciences, specifically in the areas of collective psychology, political psychology, research methods and techniques, epistemology of social psychology, contemporary problems of social psychology, sexuality, gender and reproductive health, communitarian psychology, education, and health, history of social psychology, technology, society, and cyberculture, etc.
This journal aims to foster reflection, debate, and dialogue within and outside the discipline by addressing various contemporary social phenomena from a critical stance and articulating the different domains of human activity.
