Evaluation Process

  • The Editorial Committee will review the work in advance through a technical evaluation considering the affinity of the topic with the discipline and compliance with the minimum requirements for publication. The technical review must be submitted within 5 days following the plenary session in which the proposal was presented. If the review is negative, it will be returned to the respective author so that they can comply with the required format specifications.
  • All manuscripts that pass the initial review will be sent to be evaluated by at least two academic peers, taking into account the specialty or topic of the proposals, who will be asked to submit their opinion within no more than 30 calendar days. The review is conducted under the double-blind system, which means that the mutual anonymity of the authors and reviewers is preserved throughout the evaluation process.
  • In case that the results of the review are conditioned, they will be sent to the authors so that they can make the corresponding corrections, if necessary. Once the corrections have been made, they will be sent back to the reviewers so that they can issue a final judgment within a period of 15 working days.
  • The evaluations must be reasoned and will be based on the following parameters: acceptance, the opportunity to make changes, or rejection of the proposed article. The article evaluation results will be shown to the Committee when there are two fully positive or negative opinions. If one is positive and the other negative and fully reasoned, the Committee will request a third opinion to decide on the matter. The reasoning of each evaluation will be given priority over the opinion.
  • All the evaluations will be analyzed in their final resolution by the Plenary Committee, which will ratify or not the suggestion for publication of the articles. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to send, if necessary, the observations of the negative assessments to the authors who request them.
