The Forbidden Heritage: Memory of Marginalized Spaces and Social Struggles in Recent History
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main objective and guiding thread of the text is an effort to rescue the social memory of social groups, to recover those historical events and reflections from the oblivion to which they have been relegated. But it goes beyond that: it refers to a series of social practices grounded in that memory—forms of human activity through which the struggle of memories to survive is sustained. This is what has been called a culture of memory, which plays a central role in the volume coordinated by Amílcar Carpio and Jorge Mendoza.
